[The Prince] In which the Prince saves the world one person at a time (the Otaku Princess strikes!)

September 25, 2008

    (previous entry here)

Leaves rustle, branches creak as a lithe figure stealthily moved from one tree to another. An owl hooted with indignation, spooked at the sudden passage of something, then fell dead from the branch when it saw what passed by. Well, not really dead as in biologically dead - more like dazed, blinded and KO’ed by the sheer amount of awesomeness it witnessed. In a few hours the owl will get up and will just half-remember what it saw, just like what happens to humans when they dream a particularly good dream and not-quite-forget about it in the morning.

[One-shot] That obligatory imaginary last letter everyone should write before one dies

September 8, 2008

To my family:

No, you’re not first because you’re that special to me. Fine, blood really is thicker than water, but come on, can you really say that you know me well after a quarter of a century living together under the same roof? I can’t blame you though - this materialistic society doesn’t exactly give people much choice on what to spend time on. It would have been nice if you were around for a lot of things, but I managed. Maybe I became stronger because of that, and honestly, i believe kids should be kicked out of the house after HS to fend for themselves. That’s the reason why there’s a lot of wimps around - they don’t really get to experience hardships early enough that they won’t fuck up bigger decisions later in life.Thank you for leaving me alone to fend for myself. And no, I don’t want you in my funeral. I lived alone, I will die alone.

[The Prince] The Neko princess revisited… of sorts

August 14, 2008

    (previous entry here)

After making sure the blood from his wounds has stopped flowing, the Prince made his way out of his warm comfy corner to go after the Neko princess. Now, the Prince didn’t think that it was necessary to do either things, but being a Prince means he has to be considerate to others even if others are not. For one, some, if not a lot of, people can’t take real blood dripping on the floor; even the healthy smattering of trying-hard emos in the crowd the Prince has the misfortune of moving around will scream for dear mommy at first sight of the (in their words) ‘crimson river flowing out’ of the Prince. [Pax] Oedipus

August 11, 2008

One thing Oedipus realized is that he must never, ever disable the Familiarity Barrier feature of the hit MMORPG called Pax lest he meets the same fate as his friend. He promised himself that as the casket of his friend was being lowered down the grave a few weeks ago. (more…)

[The Prince] The Otaku princess - an introduction

August 4, 2008

Let’s talk about one of the princesses the Prince has encountered while meandering in one of the balls he had to attend. Let’s call her… the Otaku princess. She’s weird. She’s geeky. She’s a fan of a lot of things, from digital single-lens-reflex cameras to anime to rock bands to pop culture to a lot of other things. She does that ‘kawaii’ pose on a lot of her pictures and yet she’s not an eyesore unlike a lot of people doing that damn pose - in fact she’s… cuter, if that’s possible. She’s also very intelligent - a trait that’s quite rare in the circles the Prince is forced to move around. She likes stargazing. She likes watching the sunrise. She likes poking people with her sheathed tantō for fun complete with the *poke* SFX bubble card that she carries around. She likes wolfing down food  - from cakes to ice cream to arroz caldo - yet she’s not fat. She likes cats and dogs yet she doesn’t have any because of her Queen’s wishes. She’s a nice, kind kid  - way too nice and kind, if you’re going to ask the Prince.

Wait. Have I already said that the Otaku princess is actually a ninja? (more…)

Note: for new visitors - unless they're one-shots, do read back for the first entries. You're liable not to understand what the hell is happening already.

There are B-sides to every story

Truth be told, I've known for a few years already how big a mistake it was when I picked one course over the other when I qualified for both of them in a certain state university. Even now I kick myself in the nuts at least once everyday for that lousy call. And the fact that it's infeasible (and rather stupid) to back out now rubs more salt to the still-sore nuts. Salted eggs anyone?

Because of that, my Muse went on a no-shit, no-holds-barred, no-retreat-no-surrender strike. Creativity died; it even held a funeral for itself in disgust and flipped me the finger from its grave.

But things are making its way out of the crypt. Bits and pieces of plots have been visiting me during unlikely hours - while staring at lines of code, while taking a dump and freezing my butt off in the process, in my dreams. It seems the Muse is back, albeit begrudgingly. Coincidence? Maybe not.

That mandatory disclaimer on copyright

It's simple actually - I wrote the stuff here unless credited or attributed to others. Steal this shit and die. Plagiarize the posts here and you will suffer a slow, horrible death. You can, however, use the posts here in its unchanged form (as-is, where-is), either in excerpts or in its entirety, as long as you credit the author - i.e. me. Hot-linking is more than welcome - just put a link directing people here to make everybody happy.

Ghostly writings on the walls

the Boy Scout:

Dood! You were so right on with your pros + cons about this site. But you forgot 1 thing, dood. Dotph is so damn popular that if you google your blogname it won’t even come out in the results. Yeah, that famous, dood! Rock on!!!!!!

AlessandriaOng:

@AlessandriaOng Wow. Blast from the past. Haven’t been there since… forever. LOL, I’m not even sure if I had an account there XD

AlessandriaOng:

arc:

@AlessandriaOng hi there, welcome to my humble abode. Thank you for the kind words. Feel free to look around; just don’t mind the dust. :D

AlessandriaOng:

The way you weave simple words into vivid imagery simply delights me. Love it!

pia:

arc:

@christa - why welcome to my rather humble abode. yep, IMO this setup has more pros than cons, but that’s just me. i really hope the things i’ve posted made sense haha. enjoy your stay here.

Christa:

I guess having your own account here is a lot better than fanfiction.net in many ways. :) Very creative writing style, I like it.

Ancia:

reminds me of alice in wonderland.

Vera:

antiseptic is good. it’s clean alright.

arc:

i’d say antiseptic. or maybe even minimalist. welcome to my little cesspool of so-called literary efforts.

Vera:
